Annual Thanksgiving Campout

November 11 - 13, 2016

Each year the troop comes together for a great weekend of camping and cooking. Our Annual Thanksgiving campout is open to friends and family for the Saturday activities. We also have an open invitation to our friends in Pack 22, especially the Webelos who will be joining us soon. They can come anytime and spend the whole weekend with us.

The troop arrives Friday afternoon, sets up camp and the cooking begins. Friday we bake all of the pies, Pumpkin, Blueberry, Apple, Mince, and whatever else we feel like making.

Saturday we begin early and start frying the turkeys around 8 AM. We normally cook at least 14 birds so it takes quite a while. Vegetables and breads begin cooking around 10 AM. At noon the tables are set, and the serving line is prepared. After a short blessing we begin the feast.

After the meal we have a Court of Honor to acknowledge the scouts who have earned badges and ranks since June. The day ends around 3 PM but you are welcome to stay until 6 PM when the park closes the gates for the night.

You should plan to arrive around noon and setup your dining area around our campfire. Each family is responsible for bringing their own table, chairs and drinks. You may also want to bring a pop-up shade too.
